DreamLeague S21 returns with US$1 million prize pool
And another one.
Got the pre-The International blues? DreamLeague’s got you with more Dota action in September.
DreamLeague S21 is the latest in high-stakes, big money competitions from ESL. Running from September 18 to 24, the tournament features a US$1 million prize pool like its two previous editions.
10 teams have confirmed their participation, with most of them slated to compete in The International 2023. Two more teams, yet to be announced, will round out the playing field.
These 12 teams will be split into two groups of six, playing a double round-robin. From there, the top four teams in each group head into the double-elimination playoffs, with each series a best-of-three.
The final two teams battle in a best-of-five grand final, with the winner walking away with a cool US$300,000.
With TI12 set to begin October 12, the tournament starts and ends about two weeks before Dota 2’s premier tournament kicks off. It’s likely that DreamLeague S21 will be our best look at the teams’ form heading into TI, and also give us a glimpse into the meta.
DreamLeague Season 21 will be broadcast live on the ESL Dota 2 Twitch and YouTube channels.
